ATEX CABLES ACCORDING TO ANNEX E.1

specific requirements for cables used in EX-d applications

Not all cables are suitable for installation in an ATEX environment. The latest standard NEN-EN-IEC 60079-14:2014 contains a special addition describing specific requirements for the testing of cables: Annex E.1.

Cables are now required to meet standards in order to reduce the migration of gas or vapours through the interstices between cores. A specified testing method will clarify the suitability of the cable for use in EX-d applications.

Jobarco offers a solution for in-house testing of our cables according to Annex E.1. The testmethod and test procedure are certified under the auspices of KIWA ExVision.

At this moment we can already inform that a major part of our series KVCC and KVCY and the halogen free series HHMB and HCHMB are suitable for application in ATEX environments. Several tested dimensions comply with the requirements of Annex E.1.

Jobcom ATEX are instrumentationcables with a special construction which is specificly suited for EX-d applications. These cables are round and compact and comply to the restricted breathing test. At this moment we have 2 versions in stock: type RE-2X(ST)Yv-fl and type RE-2X(ST)YSWBY-fl.

For data communication we have manufactured a unique Cat5E cable. The ATEX Cat5E is constructed to pass the restricted breathing test.
